🎄🎉 Sparkles, Songs & Smiles: Newcastle Division Girlguiding Christmas Disco!

What better way to end a busy year of Girlguiding fun than with a sparkle-filled, music-blasting Christmas disco? Almost every unit from our Newcastle Division came together in December for a festive evening of dancing, laughter, and togetherness—and it was truly magical.

✨ A Night to Remember

Held at St Giles & St Georges, the hall was transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with twinkling lights, Christmas decorations, and the all-important Christmas tree! The excitement was buzzing from the moment the doors opened, as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers poured in—dressed in their festive best, of course!

🎅 Some girls wore sparkly Christmas jumpers, others came in full-on party dresses, and we even spotted a few Santa hats and reindeer antlers!

💃 Non-Stop Dancing

The DJ kept the dance floor buzzing all night with classic party hits and festive favourites & some new tunes too. From the Macarena and Cha Cha Slide to a very enthusiastic singalong of All I Want for Christmas Is You, the girls danced their hearts out—and the leaders weren’t shy about joining in either!

Whether it was a conga line snaking around the room or a group of Guides showing off their moves to Shake It Off, there was never a dull moment.

“The best part was dancing with my friends and seeing my leaders join in too – they’re really good dancers!” – Amelia, Brownie (age 8)

🧁 Snacks, Sweets & Santa

No disco is complete without a little something to keep everyone going! There were sweet treats, drinks, and a snack station to refuel in between dance-offs. Some lucky girls even got a small gift from the surprise visitor—yes, Santa even did a quick fly by in the sky too, but many of the girls where too busy partying to notice! 🎁

🫶 A Celebration of Guiding Spirit

More than just a party, the Christmas Disco was a celebration of everything Girlguiding stands for: community, joy, and giving every girl the chance to shine. It was wonderful to see girls from different units mixing, making new friends, and having fun together.

The leaders also had a fantastic time catching up with one another, sharing laughs and a few (slightly dodgy) dance moves on the floor!

“Seeing all the girls enjoying themselves so much was the perfect way to end the year. This is what Girlguiding is all about!” – Rach, Guide Leader

🎄 Thank You!

A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers who helped organise the event, the DJ for keeping the energy high all evening, and the parents and carers who got everyone to and from the venue. It truly was a team effort—and one that brought joy to every corner of the room.

💬 Until Next Year…

As the last song played and glittery shoes were reluctantly put back on, there was already talk of “next year’s disco.” We can’t wait to do it all again in 2025!

Wishing all our amazing Girlguiding families a joyful, restful holiday season and a bright start to the New Year! 🌟
